One-on-One Training

NRA Home Firearms Safety Class/LTC Course

The NRA Home Firearms Safety Class is required to apply for a Massachusetts License to Carry or FID Card. During this class students will learn the basic knowledge and skills to explain the attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of firearms/ammunition.This course will explain personal protection scenarios, inside and outside the home, as well as Massachusetts firearms law. The end of this class includes LIVE fire in our state-of-the-art Indoor Range.

How To Get a Gun License in Massachusetts

Complete the NRA Home Firearms Safety Class/LTC Course and obtain the NRA certificate.

  • Create an account on the MA Firearms Licensing Portal where you can fill out the state firearms license application. Once you complete the application your local police department will reach out with an appointment date. Bring your driver's license, the certificate you received from completing our firearm safety course, and a $100 check made out to your town.
  • The appointment at the police department will include the following:
  • A short interview conducted by the firearms licensing officer
  • Review of any criminal history
  • The officer will take your fingerprints and a photo of you for your license
  • Now for the longest part of the process: waiting.
  • The wait will vary by town but once you complete your appointment at the police department, expect a waiting period of 30 to 90 days.
  • Finally you will receive a call saying that your license is ready for pick up.
  • Once you have your license in hand you can come down and browse our shop for your first firearm!

NSSF First Shots Class

We are excited to announce we will start offering NSSF First Shots Classes. What is First Shots?

This is an introductory class for first time shooters that want to give it a try and see what shooting sports are all about for only $25 per person.

What Can I Expect?

This class will average 2 hours in length and will include classroom time and time in the range to take your first shots. Limiting our classes to only 10 students allows for a more personalized and comfortable experience. Everything you need for this class will be provided, including:

  • First Shots Instructional Handbook
  • Targets
  • Firearm Rental
  • Ammunition
  • Eye and Ear protection that you will be able to take home as a gift
  • And a $25 voucher for future use at On Target

We promise a fun, educational and relaxed experience as you take your first step into this great sport.

One-on-One Training

Looking to improve your shooting skill? Just received your gun license and want to feel more comfortable with your new gun? Then private lessons are for you – one on one time with our firearm instructors makes for a more comfortable overall experience that will improve your shooting skills quicker than a standard training class. The $75 fee includes your range fee and one hour with one of our instructors.

If you would like to bring an additional person to the lesson there will be an additional $25 charge.
